Grab a snack and a comfortable seat: it’s time for Book Club! In this course, your student picks the book or genre, so that they are in charge of their learning and engaged from the start. Instructors can offer guidance with book choice as well, keeping student interests and reading-level in mind. Classes incorporate quick-study of key vocabulary, activating questions, reading time, and discussion questions. For longer books, independent reading will also be assigned. For group sessions, majority rules on picking the book! This is one of the best ways to increase your child’s literacy, reading comprehension, language control, and even writing skills.

Persuasive writing skills are essential, and this course will teach the fundamentals of the argumentative essay and persuasive writing techniques. Students will learn to develop a strong thesis statement and back their claims with evidence. Healthy Eating and 20-Minute Meals
In this hands-on course, students will learn to make a meal or satisfying snack a week, so that they have eight healthy and easy meals that they can prepare on their own! This course will also go into the basics of nutrition, smart grocery store choices, and the impact of healthy eating on our brains and bodies. This course is an additional $5 a week, for food supplies. However, students also get to eat what they make!

How to Responsibly Partner with AI for Work, Life, & School
AI is an immensely powerful tool that will undoubtedly continue to play a role in the workplace, life, and education. In this course, students will learn how to responsibly partner with AI. This means utilizing AI but not becoming reliant upon it, and recognizing the strengths and weaknesses of AI. They will learn to optimally utilize AI tools like ChatGPT, and how to use AI as a thought partner but not a replacement for their own writing skills, style, and unique perspective. Students will also explore why it is still essential that they develop and hone their writing, reading, and inquiry skills independent of AI.
